Muhku is a series of art glass vases, inspired by process-driven experimental design. The aim was to let go of the constant need of being in control, and instead, let the form evolve freely throughout the process and take unplanned occurrences as opportunities. Due to the nature of the method used, every piece is unique and can be displayed upside down as an art piece or right side up as a vase. Muhku is an embrace of the coincidental process of design.

As a designer, I am interested in blending art, design and functionality into something more. I want to create products that become an adored part of everyday life while lasting time and use. I would like to call my work “everyday art” – pieces that can be seen as art, but due to the functionality and durability of an everyday product, they won’t end up just as decorative objects inside a glass cabinet.
