No Grief Over The Dead
In my career as an artist, I passionately use art as a way of examining the human psyche. I am my own guinea pig, the case study being my own mind. I am particularly interested in investigating the subconscious and its hidden cracks, particularly relating to negative emotions. By negative emotions, I mean feelings that have been suppressed because of painful memories, for example fears, shame, grief and guilt. Memory has been the common thread of my work, and after many years of active work, it still is. I am interested in how the past affects us in our daily lives, and how memory can be both sweet and unreliable. My work is a way for me to depict my relationship with the world and daily phenomena that we face: what are my opinions, feelings and thoughts?
